NHN, NMN, and NSN lamination papers are all multi-layer lamination insulating materials. Leveraging combinations of different base materials, they deliver distinct performance advantages. All three offer excellent electrical insulation, mechanical strength, and environmental adaptability, making them widely used in the insulation systems of electrical equipment. However, due to variations in base material composition, they are suited for different equipment operating conditions and insulation scenarios. Thus, selection must align with the operational requirements of the equipment to ensure the reliability of the insulation system.
1. Insulation Application of NHN Lamination Paper
NHN lamination paper is constructed by laminating two layers of Nomex® paper with a layer of polyimide film. It integrates the high-temperature resistance and superior mechanical strength of Nomex® paper with the excellent electrical insulation and low dielectric loss of polyimide film. It is ideal for interlayer and turn-to-turn insulation in equipment requiring high insulation performance, such as high-voltage motors and generators. In these devices, NHN lamination paper effectively suppresses corona discharge, enhancing the equipment’s operational reliability and service life.
2. Insulation Application of NMN Lamination Paper
NMN lamination paper consists of two layers of Nomex® paper bonded to a central layer of polyester film. It boasts exceptional high-temperature resistance and mechanical strength, making it suitable for winding insulation in equipment like transformers and reactors. Within these devices, NMN composite paper can withstand the impact of high voltage and high current while maintaining robust insulation performance, ensuring the safe operation of the equipment.
3. Insulation Application of NSN Lamination Paper
NSN lamination paper is formed by combining two layers of Nomex® paper with a layer of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) film. Similar to NMN composite paper, it differs primarily in the thickness of the polyimide film. NSN composite paper is well-suited for electrical equipment with stringent requirements for insulation performance and mechanical strength, such as new energy vehicle drive motors, high-voltage switchgear, and dry-type transformers. In these applications, it provides reliable insulation protection, preventing electrical short circuits and leakage incidents.
